The .NET CLI is central to how developers build and test .NET applications, but mobile development has traditionally required separate tooling and IDE-specific workflows. In .NET 11, `dotnet run`, `dotnet test`, and `dotnet watch` work with .NET MAUI applications on devices, emulators, and simulators. This talk covers what it took to bring these commands to Android and iOS. We will look at how the CLI selects a device, installs and launches an app, runs tests, captures results, and updates a running application when code changes. We will also examine the challenges that make mobile different from desktop, including platform tooling, application packaging, device communication, and process lifetime. Along the way, we will use the commands with real .NET MAUI projects and discuss how they fit into local development, automated testing, and CI. Attendees will leave knowing how to build simpler, scriptable mobile workflows using the same CLI they already use elsewhere in .NET.
