Building and deploying an agent is only the beginning. When a request produces a slow, incorrect, or incomplete result, developers need visibility into both the agent's execution and the application surrounding it. In this session, I'll share lessons from building a procurement agent in C#, deploying it as a Microsoft Foundry Hosted Agent in .NET, and adding telemetry and business audit records around its execution. We'll compare the agent-centric traces available in Microsoft Foundry with the application-centric observability provided by .NET Aspire. Using a sourcing workflow, we'll follow a request through a .NET API, the hosted agent, its tools, supporting services, and the audit store. We'll examine trace correlation, dependency failures, sensitive-data boundaries, and why telemetry and business auditing solve different problems. Attendees will leave with a practical patterns for developing and operating observable .NET agents.
