The .NET Runtime is the source of many performance and security improvements that make your apps better. Runtime Async and the updated memory safety model are among the biggest changes we've ever delivered. Runtime Async moves async orchestration and codegen from the Roslyn compiler to the RyuJIT JIT compiler, to enable better performance. Memory safety adds more strict compile-enforcement and improved auditability for unsafe code use. These changes will be critical for the next generation of apps that get written and deployed.
