About

Jose Perez Rodriguez is the engineering manager of the Aspire team at Microsoft. Before Aspire, he spent about a decade working on .NET, with contributions to the core libraries and ASP.NET. He likes building tools that get the plumbing out of the way so developers can spend more time writing their apps. That's a big part of what he enjoys about Aspire: helping make coding fun. His favorite part of the job, though, is the team he gets to work with and how much he learns from them every day.

How Aspire uses .NET to build an agent-first toolchain for any programming language

Maddy Montaquila, Jose Perez Rodriguez

.NET is the backbone of a toolchain built for the next generation of software development - Aspire. Join Jose, Aspire's team lead, and Maddy, Aspire PM, to explore how the Aspire CLI, AppHost, Dashboard, and developer tooling come together to give agents a structured way to understand, run, debug, observe, and deploy distributed applications. We'll look at how Aspire brings together .NET technologies like Blazor, Native AOT, code generation, and more, to extend the development experience beyond .NET to languages like TypeScript, Python, and even Java. The result is a toolchain where .NET provides the orchestration, developer experience, and runtime foundation while developers and agents can work across the languages they're comfortable with for their apps. Come see how Aspire is using .NET to build a toolchain where developers and agents can work together across any codebase!
