Why not both? Bringing Modern Web Development to .NET
David Whitney
This talk is about the process of building three "what if" experiments that turned into a real projects to bring popular libraries, languages and tools to the .NET ecosystem. - JsxCore - Native .NET bindings for ASP.NET MVC and React and JSX. - AstroSharp - C# support for the popular Astro Static site builder - TsxCore - a TypeScript compiler that targets MSIL and the CLR that compiles Typescript programs to native .NET We'll cover how these seemingly impossible projects work, how they were designed, and why picking the best tool for the job sometimes takes you to really weird places. A fun deep dive where you'll learn how to bridge seemingly incompatible platforms, build framework-like tools, and hopefully inspire you to make things you like play together. A talk about having your cake, and eating it.
